Metabolic Syndrome

HEY it's been awhile since I've posted anything.

I've been busy and I've made what I hope is a major breakthrough in my DELTA Program. I've been reading about Metabolic Syndrome and I may be a little bit of a hypochondriac but I have too many of the listed symptoms. I think this may be a real factor in my health problems.

If I put on five pounds a year since I've been drinking Diet Coke and Diet Coke came out in 1982 that's almost thirty years and 145 pounds. I only weigh 300 pounds. I'm thinking of switching to the metric system so I'll only weigh 137 kilograms. My all time high was 330 pounds or 150 Kilograms.

In 1974 when I was senior in high school and played on the Oak Ridge Wildcats soccer team I weighed 175 pound. When I started college in 1975 I was around 200 pounds. In college I went up to 220 pounds. In 1982 I got my diploma from Georgia Tech and weighed somewhere around 240 pounds? So I've put on sixty pounds in thirty years, or only two pounds per year. Does that sound bad?

What is fascinating is the link between Aspartame and metabolic syndrome. Some people are reporting having really bad side effects with diet soda. I'm apparently one of them. I have quit drinking aspartame and I've noticed a big reduction in my appetite. I am now satisfied with normal sized meals instead of Erik sized. I've only lost a few pounds but I'm very hopeful that I've turned the corner on my weight loss. Sometimes I even wear an XL t-shirt instead of my usual XXL t-shirts.

It took me 35 years to gain all this weight. I should be able to lose two to three pounds a month now. Would that be a year's gain lost every month?
